Erin, Paula, Jodi and Amanda served up 11 tasty brews at the Women’s Soccer Clubs High Stakes St. Paddy’s Day event at the Milwaukee Zoo on March 14th. They won prizes for having four of the five top beers – Jodi won 1st for her Sunshine Delays Pale Ale, Amanda won second for her Love Porter, Paula won third for her Cherry Mead and Erin won fourth for her Dubbel Trubbel Begian Dubbel.

Our April meeting will be a tour and samples at Brenner Brewing Company! The cost for this meeting is $8. Mike Brenner will lead our tour and answer our questions. Four 5.5 oz samples are included in the tour. Additional beer will be available for purchase. Social hour at 6, tour starts at 7 pm. Hope to see you there!

St. Patrick’s Day comes early this year for Barley’s Angels! Join us for an evening of Irish beer and cider at County Clare. We will learn about the history of Irish beer and sample four on tap at County Clare – Guinness, Murphy’s Red, Kilkenny and Magner’s Cider. The cost for the sampling is $14 and includes 10 oz pours of each beer.

We will be in the private Michael Joyce Room, located to the right off the entry area at County Clare. There will be food and additional beer available for purchase. Entree choices are Shepherd’s Pie (vegetarian option available), Corned Beef and Cabbage or Baked Salmon. Dessert will be available as well.

We are so very proud to announce that Paula Cartwright, Barley’s Angels Milwaukee member and homebrewer extraordinaire, has been selected to speak at the 2015 National Homebrewers Conference in San Diego. The conference will be held June 11-15. To read more about Paula’s seminar, click here.

Colleen Bos of Bos Meadery will join us to teach us about the mead-making process and sample her meads. We will have social hour at 6 pm, meeting starts at 7 pm. Sugar Maple is located at 441 East Lincoln Avenue in Bay View. There will be a $5 fee for this meeting.

Join us for a beer and cheese tasting at the Wisconsin Cheese Mart and Uber Tap Room! Uber Tap Room is located at 1048 N 3rd St in Milwaukee. We will have social hour from 6-7, with the tasting event – including beer and cheese trivia – kicking off at 7 pm.

Erin and Jodi were on The Morning Blend this morning discussing the Angels and our Learn to Homebrew Day event.

Learn to Homebrew Day (LTHD) was established by the American Homebrewers Association (AHA) in 1999 to encourage homebrewers to introduce their non-brewer friends to the most rewarding hobby, obsession and lifestyle since the beginning of time!

We will be participating in Learn to Homebrew Day this year. We will be brewing two batches – one extract (Black IPA from a kit) and one all-grain (Hefeweizen).

We are very excited to announce that our November Meeting this year will be a four-course beer pairing at Hinterland! The very creative chefs at Hinterland are putting together a delicious four-course small plate feast, expertly paired with Hinterland beers.

The meeting will take place in the Lounge at Hinterland, located at 222. E. Erie Street in the Third Ward. The cost for this event will be $40 per person. Social hour begins at 6 pm, with dinner at 7 pm.

As always, Barley’s Angels events are for the ladies only. We have an attendance cap of 40 women for this event. You must reserve your spot by purchasing a free ticket via Eventbrite for this event.
